Let's Lower Your Blood Pressure!

Hypertension is one of America's leading health problems with 1 in 3 adults having high blood pressure (CDC, 2018). Hypertension left uncontrolled can result in coronary artery disease, stroke, vision impairment, and kidney failure (CDC, 2018). If the top number of your blood pressure is consistently higher than 140, or your bottom number is higher than 90, or both, you may have high blood pressure.

The good news is blood pressure can be controlled through weight loss, exercise, supplements, and/or medication! There is no reason not to treat high blood pressure to be a healthier you!

Nurse Debi's Health & Wellness, LLC invites you to schedule a visit with us if you have any concerns about your blood pressure. We can order labs, help you with a plan to shed a few extra pounds, pick up your exercise pace, help you stop smoking, and if necessary, prescribe some medication to help you get your blood pressure to a healthy range. It is not necessarily true that once you start medication you will always have to take it. Sometimes a few small changes can make a big difference in your health!

Call/text us at 865-340-6346 to schedule an appointment. Remember, Nurse Debi's strives to have you in and out. There is no waiting for hours to be seen when you arrive on time for your appointment. We never overbook and we never talk down to you. We are bringing commonsense back to healthcare!

Welcome to Nurse Debi’s Health & Wellness!

Thanks for taking the time to check out my weekly blog. I will be providing information about health care topics of interest each week. If there’s something specific you would like to read about, please drop me an email and let me know!

This week’s topic is all about our clinic. We established this practice after I was laid off from a prior job. I was devastated to be removed from caring for my patients. I took a personal interest in each and every patient. I never wanted to experience that kind of loss again. From that experience, I made a list of “I wants.” Nurse Debi’s Health & Wellness is a culmination of the I wants list.

I want to start a different kind of health care.

  • I want to bring common sense back to health care.

  • I want my patients to know I know them at each visit.

  • I want my patient’s time respected.

  • I want to utilize technology to improve care, not inhibit it.

  • I want my patients to call our office and NOT have an annoying phone tree, I want them to have a live voice to talk to.

  • I want all patients to feel welcome, regardless of race, gender, disability, religion, sexual orientation, or personal health choices.

  • I want to provide integrative health care.

  • I want families affected by autism to stop feeling blocked out of health care.

  • I want to improve patient health using the most natural methods, and advancing to pharmacological needs only when necessary.

  • I want people to feel respected and an equal part of the health care team.

  • I want to empower my patients.

  • I want new mothers to feel welcome and encouraged in the care of their babies.

From these wants, Nurse Debi’s Health & Wellness has been born! I pledge to you that we will do our utmost to strive for excellence in all we do. We welcome you to join our clinic as a valued patient, and not just another slot on a schedule.
